Dear Friends of the VFS,
Thank you for choosing to become a supporter of The Ventura Film Society.
The VFS is an Arts, Education and Community resource under the generous
sponsorship of Bell Arts Factory, a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit arts advocacy
organization in Ventura, California. Contributions to the Ventura Film
Society are fully tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.
We are dedicated to bringing "True Stories, Real People and New Cinema" to
California's Central Coast. Our yearlong schedule of screenings and special
events utilizes a variety of new and exciting historical venues in
association with Project Encore, the City of Ventura and local businesses.
These multiple activities include filmmaker tributes, public interaction
with filmmakers, filmmaking mentorships and imaginatively programmed feature
films, shorts, documentaries, animation and new cinema from around the
world.
One of our most important initiatives is the "Neighborhood Cinema Program".
This innovative and organic idea is at the core of the VFS. It will offer
technical guidance and mentoring to aspiring filmmakers of all ages. It
will blend local voices with global visions, encouraging those whose lives
remain ignored to express themselves through the magic of cinematic
storytelling.
The VFS also encourages local and international artists, singers,
songwriters and performance artists to collaborate with us. We work with
businesses and established arts, cultural and educational programs like the
Ventura Music Festival, the Rubicon Theater and Focus on the Masters to
serve as an umbrella festival within which all of the arts can blend and
flourish.
By supporting the VFS your tax-deductible dollars go towards creating strong
foundations for a growing arts and culture economy, bringing new and engaged
audiences to Downtown Ventura and to other venues in Ventura County.
The Board Members and growing number of supporters of the Ventura Film
Society greatly appreciate your generous donation. Thank you for helping us
entertain and engage the community through the vibrancy of alternative
cinema.
